ClearNote is a small, fast notes app for Mac and iPhone. It has the parts of Evernote you actually used, without the decade of everything else — and it can bring your whole archive across, note for note and byte for byte.

Get ClearNote Moving from Evernote?

Your notes stay yours. They live on your devices and sync through your own iCloud account. ClearNote has no servers holding your notes, no account to create, and a full export that works whether or not ClearNote is still around.

What it does

Notes that feel like paper

A fast rich-text editor with headings, lists, checklists, quotes, code, tables, links and images. Typing never waits for saving, syncing or indexing.

Evernote migration that proves itself

Import your ENEX exports and get a verified report: notes found versus imported, attachment bytes expected versus stored, and every single thing that needed a fallback. How it works →

Search that is already finished

Full-text search across notes, tags, notebooks, tasks, attachment names, text recognised from your scans and text inside PDFs. On device, offline, instant.

Scan and it becomes searchable

Scan a document on iPhone. ClearNote finds the edges, straightens it, and reads the text on device with Apple's Vision. The scan stays the original; the text is added alongside it.

Tasks with a fast mouth

Type Renew passport Friday 10am #Personal p1 and it is understood — date, time, project, priority, repeats. Parsed locally, so it works offline and never leaves your device.

Ask your own notes

Ask a question in plain language and get an answer that cites the notes it came from. Only the matching passages are sent, never your library — and AI is off until you turn it on.

Quick capture from the menu bar

A note, a task, a clipboard clip, or a search, without opening the main window.

An export you can trust

Every note as HTML and Markdown, every attachment byte-for-byte, every task, and a documented manifest. No subscription and no server required to read it.

Built around three promises

Nothing gets lost

Attachments are hashed and verified. Sync conflicts keep both versions. Edits keep a version history. An import that does not add up says so, loudly, instead of claiming success.

Nothing gets in the way

No dashboards, no gamification, no AI in every corner. Seven places in the sidebar, one capture button, and your words.

Nothing is locked in

Export the whole library to ordinary folders and files at any time. ClearNote exists because being trapped in a notes app is miserable; it is not going to do that to you.

Coming soon

ClearNote is in active development. The Mac and iPhone apps are built and tested; App Store distribution is still ahead.
